Aspire Cambodia
Since 2010, we have been in supporting the Aspire Cambodia, providing a full set of clothes and shoes for over 60 children, our next donation was schools books, an coloured pencils as part of the children’s education experience.
A contribution which we are very proud of was the purchase and installation of a large stainless water tank and pump. This now draws water from an underground aquifer. This water is then used to support an onsite sustainable fruit and vegetable garden, that provides an abundance of quality food for the children and support staff all year around. It is also used to fill the onsite fishpond, which; when harvested provides farmed fish to the children and staff.
Cans for Cambodia
Corestone have continued this legacy by creating “Cans for Cambodia” this initiative collects all plastic water bottles and beverage cans from all Corestone onsite courses and utilises the Australian Government 10 cents per bottle/can recycling scheme. The great news is that not only is it closing the loop by allowing these items to be repurposed and contributing to our sustainable goals. 100% of all monies goes to the “Cans for Cambodia” saving bank account. On a regular basis, funds will be transferred directly to the Aspire Cambodia bank account.
And when you have as many courses and attendees across Australia which we do, that’s a huge amount of recycling, something all our staff are very proud of being part of, assisting children that just need a hand up and support in life and their educational wellbeing.
