If you haven’t received a IICRC certification, you might be wondering where to start. This ultimately depends on the pathway or skillset you’re interested in. Some courses also require prerequesites, and are more complex, such as the AMRT Applied Microbial Remediation course.
In general, a great start to a restoration journey lies in the WRT Water Damage Restoration and CCT Carpet Cleaning courses, as they cover many fundamentals of restoration concepts.
It should be said, no matter your background or individual situation, if you apply yourself these certifications can be aquired by anyone. We want to support our students in any way we can. Speak with a team member to begin your restoration journey today.
The IICRC is a non-profit organisation that stands for “Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification”. Their primary purpose is to develop and uphold the professional standards that are used across their respective industries.
This means that a company wishing to practice this professionally should become Certified, and subsequently their employees (generally known as Technicians) should have applicable certifications as an individual. This is of benefit and security to both the contractor and the client, and helps ensure jobs are performed accurately, safely and effectively.
For more information on standards and legal details, see the IICRC website here.
IICRC are “one of the first organizations to serve as a resource to others in the inspection, cleaning and restoration industry, setting out to create a set of best practices – or standards – to help bridge our industries together”
Their Standards serve to develop common, industry-accepted language and terminology that enables us to more universally discuss concepts and procedures regarding cleaning, inspection and restoration.

Both options for attending our courses will provide great learning oppurtunity and you the ability to sit your IICRC exam. We can assure that you’ll leave any course feeling more confidence and deeper knowledge of the subject. It is worth noting though, that from a learning, social and practical point of view, in-person classroom attendance is the generally preferred method.
However we recognise that sometimes this isn’t possible due to time contstraints, costs and/or your location. For this reason we offer online/virtual training where approved by the IICRC. There are some courses that are notable exceptions, so please feel free to contact us with any questions.
There is no limit on the amount of attendees we can cater to for any given course (both in-person and online).
If you’re looking to make a booking with 20 attendees or more, you may find it easier to contact us via phone or email.
Furthermore, if you have any specific requirements or are interested in private courses, please reach out to us.
Yes, at Corestone Training we provide both open class enrollment and private bookings. This includes an instructor travelling out to your premises and conducting sessions there.

The most common duration of a IICRC course is 2-3 full days. However based on the particular course, this can vary from between 1-5+ days.
Your initial examination fee after completing a course is $70 AUD (except for AMRT, which is $150 AUD).
All exam fees go diretly to the IICRC, we do not collect any funds from exams.
You may sit another exam within 45 days from the failed exam. You must pay another exam fee to the IICRC to re-test (another $70 AUD). You can sit up to 2 re-tests for each course. If you are still unsuccessful after the 3rd attempt, or the time window expires, IICRC will require you to book and sit an entirecourse again.
