Hands on Interaction
Corestone Training offers all AMRT course attendees the ability to build various forms of containment with a range of products, materials and methods. Working in teams to achieve these learning outcomes, or hands on course is designed to show the attendee the correct way to set up containent, remove affected materials amd avoid cross contaminating other indoor environments.
What you will Learn:
- Setting up drying equipment, air scrubbers & building containment.
- Work procedures – Cleaning vs Removal Erecting containment, mini-containment, & demonstrating the principle of decontamination chambers.
- Material selection for containments to meet IICRC S520 requirements
- Establishing & monitoring negative pressure & managing airflow in each of the containment areas using manometers
- Demolition of plasterboard with simulated microbial contamination (dust control methods)
- Removal of simulated mould from wood studs and plasterboard
- Containment (bagging) of contaminated materials
- HEPA vacuuming and cleaning and air washing procedures.
- Dismantling of containment with proper techniques and correct disposal
- Mould remediation & procedures
- Conditions relating to Mould, Categories relating to Water
- Micro-organisms; Fungi, bacteria, viruses Are they active or dormant?
- Contents’ remediation – clean or replace?
- Sewage back-flows; E-coli, salmonella, shigella, pseudomonas, parasites, hepatitis A, B and C, rotavirus, adenovirus. What are they & are you protected?
- Bird & Bat droppings; exposure risk.
- Biocide/Disinfectant uses – Are you achieving what you think you are?
- We’ll build containments, set up equipment, don & doff PPE and more!

AMRT instructors will use simple explanations and fun hands-on learning lessons, team building exercises, and review to provide the education needed to understand the proper procedures microbial remediation…and pass the IICRC AMRT exam!
This class is the mould & sewage remediation class you are looking for! The class is only available in-person, and it is not approved to be taken online due to the hands-on elements of the class.
